The first two are within walking distance of the Baxter arena. The rest are within two miles. I haven't heard if the event organizers will be offering a shuttle service. Anyone flying in and needing a rental car can acquire one at the Omaha Airport.

Baxter Arena is a 7900 seat facility but current plans are to fill the lower bowl first. Ticket sales are steadily creeping upward with several sections close to selling out.
TICKETS:
http://www.ticketmaster.com/2018-US.../artist/2334962
(NOTE: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TICKETMASTER. Using Ticketmaster will guarantee the best prices for your seat(s). Other internet sites I've seen have jacked up prices.) If you don't wish to buy on-line you can call the Baxter front office, during normal business hours at: 402-554-6200
All-session tickets range from $70 to $100 for the eight days of competition. All-session tickets are transferable between family and friends, and guarantee the same seat for each session. Other ticket packages and single event tickets will be offered closer to the event.
VIP Loge Boxes, accommodating 10-12 fans, will be located on the home end of the Baxter Arena ice. The limited quantity boxes are priced from $1,250 to $1,500 each for all eight days. VIP Loge Boxes are available by contacting the Baxter Arena Premium Seating Manager at 402-554-6206.

The Baxter Arena is situated near the Aksarben Village with a variety of shops, apartments, businesses and restaurants.
Highly recommended are Jones Brother's Cupcakes, Voodoo Taco, and DJ's Dugout (sports bar)

Ticket sales (full week packages) are going at a modest pace.
Lower Bowel seating (Upper bowl to be used if lower bowl is full, otherwise it will be curtained off).
June 1: 1710 Seats remaining.
July 5: 1599 Seats remaining.
Two sections are down to only one seat while several others are 50% to 90% full. I'm guessing once a certain date has been passed they will be offering single draw tickets (probably closer to the event).
I've heard that advertising and social medial will commence close to the event for maximum impact. Omaha has a strong tradition of supporting these types of events as witnessed at the US Swim Trials and NCAA events.

What is format and schedule? Not sure you have enough teams/games to merit traveling to Omaha

adding one more team to mens field and even adding one more team to womens field as well does not change the fact that there are too few teams in this event to justify travelling anywhere to watch it. hope Omaha can draw decent crowds but i am hard pressed to see why anyone other than family of players will be there.

Ticket sales are doing nicely. Plans are to fill the lower bowl with any overflow going into the upper bowl. Right now, according to the Ticket Master website, two sections are down to a single seat while other sections are down to 10%-50% capacity. Single draw tickets will be sold closer to the event.
If I heard correctly, this event is on track (if not already) of breaking previous Trials attendance records. The Aksarben Curling Club is stoked at such a prospect. We have the full support of the Baxter Arena, the Omaha Sports Commission, and UNO (whose campus is right next to the arena). This has truly been a team effort.
https://www1.ticketmaster.com/2018-...bba=1#efeat4211
And these current ticket sales have happened BEFORE any major advertising, substantial MSM exposure or social media campaigns. A lot of this has been happening via word of mouth or from speaking to various groups. In the next few months I plan to be speaking to Rotary Clubs, PE Teachers, Church groups and college clubs.
I've also heard that the VIP sections are selling good as well.
FYI: Omaha has a great history of supporting amateur sporting events:
1. NCAA Volleyball championships
2. World show jumping and dressage
3. College World Series
4. Olympic swim trials (soon to have its FOURTH appearance)
5. First round of March Madness
6. UNO hockey
For the Trials, I'd venture that most of the spectators will be local so travel/lodging costs are not an issue. Most will be new to the sport and will simply be curious. Also, week long passes are cheap ($70 to $100) which has helped.
Cheers!

Great! I write as a curler who used to go to national events but no longer. Good to see that Omaha is turning out for your event.

Omaha hosted the 2016 age-group triathlon national championships and is hosting them again in August 2017.
