3 Chinese teams, which makes sense.
3 European teams, and 2 North American teams.

Neither Japan nor Korea received an invitation. Strategic in that respect, no doubt.

Probably was the case but the Chinese Curling Association hosted a Summer Bonspiel (Longjiang Lottery Bank of China International Cup) with both South Korean and Japanese National Squads to compete in Harbin against the Chinese Teams and some local clubs.

The Mens Tourney was won by Rui Liu's National Squad while Japan's Satsuki Fujisawa beat the Flowers then without Yin Liu 10 to 3 in the Womens Final.

China v. USA

Cassie Potter is NOT in Yichun. Her vice is skipping the squad.

They had hammer in 1.

The Flowers leads 3 to 1 playing 5 with Bingyu having hammer...

Rui Liu is not related to Yin Liu or Jinli Liu or Sijia Liu...

Yin does have a brother as does Jinli. Both are younger brothers.

The rest of the ladies I recall are only childs...

CNTV is showing the Trilliums v. Flowers. I am unable to watch this as it is regional restricted. Getting scoring updates and screen shots from my curling friends overseas who are watching this live...

8th end Trilliums v. Flowers

Apparently Sherry's last shot wrecked in front of the house and Bingyu stole 2 in 8, increasing her lead to 3.

My friend drew up this shot scenario for me...

Definitely can say that Bingyu is/was not married. She did date a member of the mens team previously but not Fengchung Wang...

There was some controversy with him after Vancouver. Rumours swirled that he was kicked off the team after he returned to Harbin by himself after the tourney was over. Wang did lead China to a PACC Championship in 2010 but his entire team was replaced and a different squad played in Regina at the 2011 WMCCs.

Wang is now a curling coach.

Sorry I am working on this with the Yichun Organizers... The CNTV feed is only reporting Team Wang's matchups hence why I can update the score as it happens...

Draw 3 Scores

They have been released and updated on this site...

The Jr. Team is the story of Yichun going 3 and 0 while The Flowers, Sweden and Switzerland are tied for 2nd.

I am surprised with Team Middaugh's 1 and 2 record. Draw 4 will be underway in less than 30 minutes.

CNTV Streaming of Yichun

Thanks Gerry!

The updates have been sometimes challenging. Jokingly like TSN during a World Championships not played in Canada, CCTV5/CNTV has only been "Flower Focused" in its broadcasts.

There is no commentary which is nice cause it reminds me of watching a match at the arena.

The live stream of matches has only been available to the Motherland only and I have relied on curling fans and friends for the live updates of Team Wang matches. This is why you sometimes can see an end to end update of scoring.

What CNTV has done is that already played matches are available for viewing without the China only code.

I am happy that there are others like me especially in the Motherland that follow the Flowers and Curling in general. The fanbase overseas are active users of the CZ iPhone app.

Final Standings

So after the Round Robin, 3 of the 4 semi finalists have been determined...

1. Team Wang (China)
2. Team Felstcher (Switzerland)
3. Team Middaugh (Canada)

T-4. Team Jiang (Jr. Chinese Ladies) & Team McManus (Sweden)

A tie breaker was played last night/this morning between the two teams. I have not heard from Yichun on who won the match up.

Therefore, tonight's/tomorrow morning's semi final at 7:30 AM!!! Local time will be...

Team Wang v. winner of Team Jiang v. Team McManus
Team Felstcher v. Team Middaugh

CCTV5 showed the Wang v. Felstcher game last night. In the 9th end, Binia drew to the four foot and had shot stone, 2nd, 3rd and 4th shot was Bingyu's.

Team Wang called timeout... Coach Weidong Tan, who's come back to coach the team suggested to draw for 1. Bingyu wanted to tap her 3rd stone in the 12 foot into the Felschter shot stone to attempt to score 3 maybe 4 depending how if her last rock stuck in the 12 ft. They decided to go with Bingyu's suggestion.

Bingyu threw her shot, Zhou and Yue hardly swept it and tapped her 12 ft stone into the Felschter stone but the Swiss stone hung for 4th shot, scoring 3 for Team Wang.

It was the 3 in 9 that ultimately won the match for the Flowers and 1st place in the Round Robin.

Tiebreaker update

Yes, thank you for the news...

The Yichun site and Yichun's Twitter clone account, has not posted this result.

Should be interesting as Team Wang's only loss was to Team McManus.
