Wendling finished 6-3 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wendling lost 10-6 to Italy's Stefano Gilli, then responded with a 8-7 win over Hostmaelingen. Wendling won 10-6 against Orrin Carson (Stirling, SCO). Wendling went on to lose 11-3 against Schmidt. Wendling lost 6-4 to Liqiunan Tao (Beijing, CHN) where Wendling responded with a 7-3 win over Benny Kapp (Fuessen, GER). Wendling won 10-9 against Johnson Tao (Edmonton, CAN), then won 10-3 against Sam Flanagan (Naseby, NZL) and 11-8 against Manuel Jermann (Arlesheim, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

Wendling ranks 61st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 50.375 points earned so far this season.
