Hopefully this is a learning game for them. With upcoming games vs NS, PEI & Canada that #2 spot is their goal now.
I think Jones goes 11-0.
This prediction would have more weight if it was made 8 games ago!

I have to agree with alot said here.
#1- Don't want to see BC again. I hope ONT-CAN will be the feature game tomorrow night.
#2- Manitoba will probably go 11-0 now.
+ I think 5 losses will still be too many this year.

Well, if BC is being televised tonight I will not be watching. I find BC a terribly boring competitor and the voice is not something I want to listen to for three hours. I've watched every televised game and have enjoyed most of them. This time I just can't.

There seems to be an unusually high amount of complaining by people annoyed by various teams this year. And I get it. But the way I see it: I can overlook a lot of things that might get on my nerves, if I am watching a good team that makes smart decisions. Am I a huge Kelly Scott fan? No, but I can get past the "excessively sweet" team dynamics because they are a solid team that for the most part sticks to their game plan and executes well.
I'm sure impressed by how well Jennifer Jones has been playing this week. You can see that hunger in her eyes again after taking half the season off. My dream final would be MB-ON, those two teams are clearly the class of the field this week and would make strong representatives for Canada at the Worlds.

Right on the money. I would prefer an ONT-CAN game too. The cool Homan vs the fiery Nedohin.
I agree that that CCA needs to schedule the draw a bit better. Having the marquee games will only bring in more viewers.
For the record I am both a Homan & Jones fan....but what I really want is a gold medal in Riga for Canada.

AB/ONT has been the final round robin draw at the Brier for the last several years. Is that the work of a randomly-planning computer?
I noticed that too. Maybe the CCA has edited time slots for some teams for TV or perhaps it is a fluke and chance for the last while. I do know tha the CCA years ago had the standard 12 team RR draw pre drafted and teams were drawn a number and that was where they were slotted. It had some slight anomalies as I think 2 or maybe 4 teams played an extra morning game and that was undesirable. This is a good question to ask the CCA and put an end to this bitching about what teams are televised
Regardless, it is not a perfect world.
As an aside, I do think that it has been an excessive amount of Kelly Scott this year for sure though.

I'm not naive enough to believe the draw is random. The teams are divided into 3 groups for both men and women. All members of any one group play in the same draws - check the sched. Since there are 8 teams on most draws, 2 groups are on the ice and 1 off for any given draw. (except the one AM draw when only 1 group is on)
In the Scotties the groups are:
1. CA, ON, MB, SK (if they ranked teams the top 3 are here)
2. NB, PE, NL, NT
3. NS, QC, AB, BC
In The Brier the groups are:
1. ON, AB, MB, BC (again if the teams were ranked this would include the top 3)
2. NB, PE, NL, NT (exactly same as in the women's draw)
3. NS, QC, NO, SK
I don't have a problem with them fiddling with the sched. Just don't understand why they don't distribute top teams amongst the 3 groups. They could still have their perceived top 2 teams playing each other in the final draw and in the case of the Scotties CA in the first draw.

If BC wins tonight, there's a good chance that the four playoff teams will be decided. Hard to see them losing tomorrow.

BC does look like a top team for once tonight. This is probably the first time in all of their televised matches that they look like a team, that can truly contend

One of the ABJJ (anyone but jj) groupies wrote earlier today Jones wouldn't curl 93% again.
They were correct, shes only curling 98% this evening.

hopefully tsn switches games soon. ns vs ont seems the most interesting.
Funny isn't it. NS curling better, 4 game win streak and up 4-2 vs Homan... who woulda thunk it and who woulda thought you'd want to watch NS play? This is why we play folks...nothing is set in stone.

If Canada loses tonight to AB - which looks possible - they could still be at risk of falling to 4 losses as they play Ontario tomorrow. So the 4 loss teams will need help from BC, Sask, or Canada. Should be interesting.

They are holding their own against the young does but MA looks like a lost soul out there, relying on Jones to tell her what to do.

NS played as bad an end of curling as I have seen. It has been sad to see these once great curlers trying to compete way past their best-by date.
