2014 Cdn Senior Curling Championships
Well, coverage is never great for the Seniors, and this year it is Yellowknife, but I find it is interesting to see who has graduated and who will shoot for a chance at the worlds.
I predict Manitoba's Sr. Women's champions (2014) will have a good shot at winning this year.
Skip - Lois Fowler. Third - Maureen Bonar. Second Cathy Gautier and Lead Allyson Stewart.
(oh! my 1200th post! cool. Not sure why image is not showing. no biggy... 162K png <<shrugs>> )

Seniors coverage
Will there be any televised coverage from Yellowknife this year? Most likely no tv but wondering if it will be streaming anywhere?

Rooting for short time Plainfield (NJ) curler and Olympic medalist Glenys Bakker. She must be really good to have curled and won in NJ.

Marilyn is in the prequalification and lost her first shot at it today. She has to win the next one to get to the round robin.

Pretty amazig field for the seniors. Throwback to a 90s Scottie's! Cathy Cunningham, Glenys Bakkar, Marilyn Bodough, Heidi hanlan, Kate Horne with the BC team. But my pick is defending champions team NS. Colleen Pinkney. Going to be a great week of curling. I wish it was televised but I think it will be on curlinggeek

that has to hurt the CCA
LOL.
1) if you're going to try to be amazing and defame the CCA, at least spell names correctly. (Bodogh)
2) how does this "hurt the CCA"? Ontario got relegated last year, fair and square. That's all the CCA cares about at this point that it is fair and everyone has equal opportunity. I'm pretty sure the CCA does not care in the least that any team gets relegated. That is not their intent to get rid of the weaker teams. If you all think they are doing this and are vile, unfair people...do you not think a vile, unfair group wouldn't have tried to get Ontario out of relegation unfairly? Did that happen? No. Oh, wait, perhaps the ON v NU 16-0 game was because the CCA rigged it...... I'm surprised this hasn't been discussed yet because it's just as ridiculous as everyone else's claims regarding relegation/qualification.
So over this topic. It's here. Get over it. Even the petition that started almost. 3 weeks ago has only grown to 2000 signatures...most of which are from family and friends and not curlers themselves...even still 2000 of 1 million curlers is only 0.2% of the curling population. Real good effort... Lol.

If anyone is up in Yellowknife and has a laptop, I'm looking for volunteers to broadcast a few games on CurlingGeek.
No experience required. No pay either, but your fellow curling fans will thank you. :-)

I'm not following this discussion about relegation. As far as I can tell, Bodogh is 2W 0L in the round robin, which is just beginning unless the CCA site is totally out of date.

OKay. Found it. Ford (nu) Scott (pei) and Bodogh (on) were 3 teams in Sr.Womens' PreQual round. ended 2W for Scot 2L for Ford and 1-1 for Bodogh. Seems bodogh and scott are now curling in the regular RR - and Ford is not. So, doesn't seem to me that Bodogh got relegated. ON is curling currently at 2W 0L. So if they do well during this RR are they still relegated? Whazzup?

Bodogh got through relegation and into the full event, by nipping Nunavet for the second play in spot.
would have been a long trip for 2 pre qualifying games if they lost.

My bet as well - but first W for MB's fowler was a stolen EE over Heidi Hanlon. So... games'll all be tough. On men's side - Robertson plays LOTS against great teams, WINS lots too, but are at the autumn end of fifty and Armour is beyond - so we'll see who is pushing at the other end of 50... the young tigers (male version of cougar).

Looks like Mb cougars are cruising along nicely while mb men are in the thick of things. Alta probably favorite for men.
Things starting to shape up for the weekend.
