Jamie Sinclair was born in Alaska, so that’s where her US citizenship comes from. Her parents were in the Canadian Air Force. Her dad was training pilots for the US Air Force as part of an officer exchange program. iirc. Her parents both being Canadian is where her Canadian citizenship comes from. How that would connect into this new birthright rule for the Scotties, I don’t know, since she wasn’t born in a province. I think she was 2 or 3 when they moved back to somewhere in Ontario, where the family was and is normally based. So if she could claim a home province of some sort, Ontario would be the most logical.
All this is moot, though, as she remains in the US program, and I recall hearing her say that athletes like her competing in international competitions must wait three years before competing again if they want to change what country they compete for, So if she wanted to change countries now, she’d miss any chance to compete at the 2022 Olympics as we’re inside the three years already,
