McCarville Heads Back to Scotties
![]() Krista McCarville and her hobby squad of Andrea Kelly, Ashley Sippala, Kendra Lilly and Sarah Potts won the Northern Ontario Scotties title on Sunday. McCarville went 6-0 on the week, going undefeated in the six team round robin, setting up the final against second-ranked Krysta Burns of Sudbury who finishied with a 4-1 record. Burns' only loss was a 7-6 decision to McCarville on Friday. McCarville had hammer to open to game, scoring 1 in the first end. Burns and McCarville traded singles into the fifth end, where the Thunder Bay side scores the only deuce of the game. From there, Burns scored a single to close the deficit, though McCarville scored in the seventh, then stole another point in the eighth end to lead by three. Burns got a point back in the ninth end, but was run out of rocks in the 10th by McCarville, who went on to close out the 6-4 win. McCarville improves to 32-13 on the season, while Burns dropped to 13-8. The win by McCarville improves their record to 6-0 over their career.
