McCarville Heads Back to Scotties
Krista McCarville and her hobby squad of Andrea Kelly, Ashley Sippala, Kendra Lilly and Sarah Potts won the Northern Ontario Scotties title on Sunday. McCarville went 6-0 on the week, going undefeated in the six team round robin, setting up the final against second-ranked Krysta Burns of Sudbury who finishied with a 4-1 record. Burns' only loss was a 7-6 decision to McCarville on Friday. McCarville had hammer to open to game, scoring 1 in the first end. Burns and McCarville traded singles into the fifth end, where the Thunder Bay side scores the only deuce of the game. From there, Burns scored a single to close the deficit, though McCarville scored in the seventh, then stole another point in the eighth end to lead by three. Burns got a point back in the ninth end, but was run out of rocks in the 10th by McCarville, who went on to close out the 6-4 win. McCarville improves to 32-13 on the season, while Burns dropped to 13-8. The win by McCarville improves their record to 6-0 over their career.
