By Cameron Sallaj The young Czech duo of Julie Zelingrova and Vit Chabicovsky are soaking it all in at the Milano-Cortina Games as the pair make their debut on Olympic ice. After a tough start to the week, losing their first four games, the team defeated South Korea 9-4 in Draw 8. They then suffered a fifth loss to Switzerland, officially eliminating them from contention. Still, with nothing but experience to gain, the team, with a combined age of 40, came out firing Sunday morning against Norway's Kristin Skaslien and Magnus Nedregotten. After trading singles through the first two ends, the Czech's scored two in the third and stole one in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead. In the back half, Zelingrova and Chabicovsky did not allow the Norwegians any multi-point ends, forcing them to singles both times they had the hammer. In eight, the Zelingrova secured the 6-3 win with a double takeout on her final shot. Later on Sunday, the young team met their match against reigning gold medalists Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner of Italy, conceding 8-2 in six ends. However, with two wins under their belt in just their debut games, this team will be a force to the reckoned with in 2030.
