By Cameron Sallaj After a disastrous third day of competition at the Stadio olimpico del ghiaccio for the Swedish duo of Isabella and Rasmus Wrana, the pair bounced back with two huge wins on Saturday to remain in the hunt for one of four playoff seeds. On Thursday, the siblings opened the competition with dominant wins over last chance qualifiers South Korea and Czechia, vaulting them to the top of the standings. They then suffered their first loss to Estonia before falling to both Great Britain and Norway, losing the latter 9-0 all on stolen points. Saturday morning, the pair looked to change their fate as they battled Switzerland's Briar Schwaller-Hurlimann and Yannick Schwaller. After swapping singles in the first two ends, the Swedes counted two in the third to give themselves the lead. This was short-lived, however, as Switzerland played as masterful fourth end, allowing them to score four and take their first lead of the game 5-3. The high scoring affair continued in the fifth as Sweden was able to score four of their own to retake the lead. With the power play in six, Switzerland got two points back to tie things up at seven with two ends left to play. Utilizing their own power play in seven, Isabella and Rasmus scored three more points to head to eight leading by three. There, Switzerland was not able to force the game into overtime with Sweden stealing three more to pull off a massive 13-7 win. Following their morning victory, the Wrana's were right back on the ice against reigning Olympic champions Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner of Italy. This game saw Rasmus have his best game of the tournament, shooting 92% to give the Swedes their fourth win. After forcing Italy to one in the first, Sweden converted two in the second and added a single in the third. They then forced the Italians again in the fourth to lead 3-2 at the break and hold the hammer heading into the second half. In five, Isabella took advantage of a heavy freeze by Stefania to put three on the board. Italy then got two back on the power play but continued to trail by two heading to seven. There, Isabella would end the game by picking out Italy's lone shot rock to count three more and give her side a comfortable 9-4 win. Now two games ahead of the rest of the field, Sweden sit fifth with their 4-3 record, just behind Canada and Italy who are both 3-2. In their final two round robin games, the siblings will go against two frontrunners in the United States and Canada with a spot in the playoffs on the line.
