By Cameron Sallaj It has been a perfect start to the 2026 Milano-Cortina Games for the British duo of Jenn Dodds and Bruce Mouat, now sitting a perfect 7-0 through four days of competition. After picking up wins against Norway and Estonia on Day 1, the pair went on to beat Czechia, Sweden and South Korea in convincing fashion. On Saturday, they faced two heavy hitters in the event and teams trailing them closely in the standings, Canada and the USA. In the morning draw against Canada's Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant, Dodds and Mouat got off to a quick start by taking three in the opening end. They then forced the Canadians to one in the second before adding two more in the third to open up a 5-1 lead. Another single in the fourth was bettered with a deuce for Team GB in the fifth, giving them a commanding 7-2 advantage. Then in the sixth, Jenn Dodds killed any momentum Canada had with a triple takeout on her final stone, forcing Peterman and Gallant to just one. Despite a steal of two for Canada in seven, they were unable to replicate it in the eighth end to force the game into an extra end, conceding 7-5 and giving Dodds and Mouat a sixth win. Right back on the ice in the afternoon, the Brits went up against the United States' Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin in a battle of undefeated teams. This game also got off to a good start for Dodds and Mouat as they scored two in the first end before stealing one in the second. After trading singles through three and four, Thiesse and Dropkin took advantage of a mistake by Dodds in the fifth to score three and knot the score at four-all. With the score now tied, Great Britain remained calm, managing a single in the sixth and stealing one in the seventh to go back ahead by two. Then in eight, the Americans were forced to concede after Thiesse was left with no shot for multiple points on her final stone. The mixed doubles competition is just the start of the Games for both Dodds and Mouat as they will also compete in the four-player disciplines with their respective teams. Having finished fourth at the last Olympics in Beijing, the pair will look to challenge for the top of the podium as the playoff round gets underway on Monday. Two games ahead of the rest of the field, Great Britain will play their final two games on Sunday against Switzerland and Italy, the reigning mixed doubles gold medalists. A win in either of these games will secure the pair the top spot in the round robin and number one seed heading into the knockout round.
