McEwen went on to lose 7-4 against Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB). McEwen responded with a 9-4 win over Jongduk Park (Gangwon, KOR). McEwen won 6-2 against Rob Nobert (Vernon, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
