To advance to the championship game, Walstad won 8-7 over Yves Stocker (Zug, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2021 Curling Masters Champery in Champery, Switzerland; and won 5-3 over Sixten Totzek (Munich, GER) in the quarterfinals. of the 2021 Curling Masters Champery in Champery, Switzerland;
Walstad finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walstad defeated Stocker 7-4, then won 9-3 against Mathias Braenden (Trondheim, NOR). Walstad went on to lose 6-5 against Luca Rizzolli (Trentino, ITA). Walstad responded with a 6-4 win over Mark Watt (Perth, SCO). Walstad won 8-2 against Andrin Schnider (Schauffhausen, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Curling Masters Champery Championship title, Walstad earned 40.847 world rankings points along with the $12,060CDN first prize cheque, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 24th place overall with 116.026 total points. Walstad ranks 15th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 51.087 points earned so far this season.
