In their opening game, Czechia's David Sik defeated Hong Kong's Chun Ngok Wong 10-5, then won 8-7 against Australia's Geoff Davis and 8-3 against Hungary's Peter Sardi. Czechia's David Sik went on to lose 5-3 against Sweden's Mats Wranaa. Czechia's David Sik responded with a 5-3 win over Japan's Tamotsu Matsumura in their final qualifying round match.
