Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) won 7-6 over Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) in the Final of the Princess Auto Players' Championship, held April 9 - 14, 2024 in Toronto, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Gushue won 6-5 over Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) in the semifinals of the Princess Auto Players' Championship in Toronto, Ontario; and won 6-5 over Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the Princess Auto Players' Championship in Toronto, Ontario;
Gushue finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) 6-5, then went on to lose 8-5 against Mouat. Gushue responded with a 8-5 win over Brad Jacobs (Winnipeg, MB). Gushue won 6-1 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). Gushue went on to lose 8-2 against Brendan Bottcher (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Princess Auto Players' Championship Championship title, Gushue earned 75.000 world rankings points along with the $55,000CDN first prize cheque. Gushue move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 54 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 3rd overall with 381.750 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Gushue ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 381.750 points earned so far this season.
