Peterson finished 5-2 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Peterson defeated Ashley Howard (Regina, SK) 7-5, then won 12-6 against Eunjung Kim (Gangneung , KOR) and 6-5 against Michele Jaeggi (Bern, SUI) to advance to a A-Qualifier game where they lost 8-5 against Eun ji Gim (Uijeongbu, KOR). Peterson lost 7-3 to Kim where Peterson responded with a 5-3 win over Nancy Martin (Saskatoon, SK) to advance to the C-Qualifier where they 8-1 against Isabella Wrana (Sundbyberg , SWE) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
 
Peterson earned 29.750 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the RBC Dominion Securities Western Showdown, moving up 12 spots the World Ranking Standings into 35th place overall with 87.297 total points. Peterson ranks 23rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 44.625 points earned so far this season.
