Meghan Walter (Winnipeg, MB) lost 8-1 to Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI) in the Final of the RBC Dominion Securities Western Showdown, held October 13 - 16, 2022 at the Swift Current Curling Club in Swift Current, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Walter won 4-2 over Stefania Constantini (Cortina d'Ampezzo, ITA) in the semifinals of the 2022 RBC Dominion Securities Western Showdown in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 5-3 over Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 RBC Dominion Securities Western Showdown in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada;

Walter finished 5-1 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walter defeated Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR) 6-3, then won 6-5 against Tirinzoni. Walter went on to lose 7-6 against Clancy Grandy (Vancouver, BC). Walter responded with a 8-6 win over Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER). Walter won 6-5 against Isabella Wrana (Sundbyberg , SWE) to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 6-5 against Eunjung Kim (Gangneung , KOR) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the RBC Dominion Securities Western Showdown, Walter take home 38.500 world rankings points along with the $9,000CDN prize, moving up 18 spots the World Ranking Standings into 39th place overall with 79.492 total points. Walter ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 49.000 points earned so far this season.
