To advance to the championship game, Jacobs won 8-3 over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2021 Tim Hortons Curling Trials in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan;
 
Jacobs finished 7-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jacobs defeated John Epping (Toronto, ON) 9-3, then won 7-6 against Matt Dunstone (Regina, SK) and 5-2 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB). Jacobs went on to lose 7-6 against Gushue. Jacobs responded with a 7-5 win over Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB). Jacobs won 7-3 against Koe, then won 9-5 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) and 12-5 against Tanner Horgan (Kingston, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Tim Hortons Curling Trials, Jacobs take home 74.239 world rankings points. Jacobs gained 28.95 points improving upon their best 3 events, though dropped 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 2ndplace overall with 434.629 total points. Jacobs ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 192.746 points earned so far this season.
