To advance to the championship game, Schwaller won 8-5 over Mikkel Krause (Hvidovre, DEN) in the semifinals of the 2020 Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships in Helsingborg, Sweden;
Schwaller finished 6-3 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller defeated Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) 9-4, then went on to lose 8-5 against Edin. Schwaller responded with a 11-5 win over Krause. Schwaller won 10-6 against Sergei Glukhov (Moscow, RUS), then won 8-7 against Andrew Reed (Kent, ENG). Schwaller went on to lose 9-4 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). Schwaller lost 5-4 to Marc Muskatewitz (Fuessen, GER) where Schwaller responded with a 8-3 win over Ross Paterson (Stirling, SCO).
