Un-Chi Gim (Gyeonggido, KOR) won 6-4 over Suzanne Birt (Charlottetown, PEI) in the Final of the Jim Sullivan Curling Classic, held December 6 - 8, 2019 at the Thistle St. Andrews Curling Club in Saint John, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Gim won 9-6 over Andrea Crawford (Fredericton, NB) in the semifinals of the 2019 Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; and won 6-4 over New Brunswick's Sarah Mallais in the quarterfinals.
Gim finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gim defeated Veronica Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) 8-1, then won 8-1 against New Brunswick's Sarah Mallais and 9-2 against New Brunswick's Justine Comeau. Gim won 8-7 against Ma Yun Yan (Beijing, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Jim Sullivan Curling Classic Championship title, Gim earned 19.344 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 20 of the event schedule, Gim did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 209th to 211th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 3.992 total points. Gim ranks 178th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.992 points earned so far this season.
