To advance to the championship game, Birt won 7-2 over Nova Scotia's Tanya Hilliard in the semifinals of the 2019 Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; and won 5-4 over Chenyi Wang (Beijing, CHN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2019 Jim Sullivan Curling Classic in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada;
 
Birt finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Birt defeated Sharon Levesque (Fredericton, NB) 7-3, then won 7-6 against Sylvie Quillian (moncton, NB) and 7-4 against Wang. Birt won 8-1 against Karen Cousins (Saint John, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
