To advance to the championship game, Mei won 5-3 over Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2018 Red Deer Curling Classic in Red Deer, Alberta; and won 4-3 over Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC) in the quarterfinals.
 
Mei finished 5-2 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mei lost 5-3 to Brown, then responded with a 8-4 win over 's Jodi Marthaller. Mei won 5-4 against Diane Gushulak (New Westminster, BC). Mei went on to lose 9-2 against Kelsey Rocque (Edmonton, AB). Mei responded with a 8-4 win over Nicky Kaufman (Edmonton, AB). Mei won 5-3 against Lindsay Hudyma (Vancouver, BC), then won 7-4 against Sarah Wark (Chilliwack, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Red Deer Curling Classic, Mei take home 33.839 world rankings points along with the $7,000CDN prize. Mei move up 11 spots after posting a net gain of 27.042 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 35th overall with 118.284 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Mei ranks 32nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 77.501 points earned so far this season.
