Retornaz lost 5-3 to Rich Ruohonen (Seattle, USA) where Retornaz responded with a 11-4 win over Alexander Baumann (Baden-Baden, GER). Retornaz won 6-5 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) in their final qualifying round match.
