Retornaz went on to lose 8-7 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN). Retornaz lost 6-5 to Marc Pfister (Adelboden, SUI) where Retornaz responded with a 11-5 win over De Jia Zou (Harbin, CHN). Retornaz went on to lose 9-4 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Retornaz responded with a 10-6 win over Masaki Iwai (Hokkaido, JPN). Retornaz went on to lose 6-5 against Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR). Retornaz lost 5-3 to Rich Ruohonen (Seattle, USA) where Retornaz responded with a 11-4 win over Alexander Baumann (Baden-Baden, GER). Retornaz won 6-5 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) in their final qualifying round match.

Retornaz earned 12.080 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. Retornaz move up 5 spots after posting a net gain of 10.56 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 62nd overall with 119.739 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Retornaz ranks 43rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 94.555 points earned so far this season.
