Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) run at the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 came to an end in the semifinals with a 5-2 loss to Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). of the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Regina, Saskatchewan; Jacobs advanced through the quarterfinals with a 10-8 win over John Shuster (Duluth, USA). of the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Regina, Saskatchewan;

Jacobs finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jacobs defeated John Morris (Vernon, BC) 8-5, then won 7-5 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) and 9-4 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK). Jacobs went on to lose 7-5 against Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Jacobs earned 45.371 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 487.782 total points. Jacobs ranks 10th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 45.371 points earned so far this season.
