Laycock finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laycock defeated Jordan Smith (Winnipeg, MB) 6-1, then won 6-4 against Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN) and 7-4 against Jason Ackerman (Regina, SK). Laycock went on to lose 7-5 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). Laycock lost 4-3 to Bruce Korte (Saskatoon , SK) where Laycock responded with a 3-0 win over Stjerne. Laycock won 7-6 against Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Laycock earned 40.702 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Canad Inns Men's Classic, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 7th place overall with 467.686 total points. Laycock ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 143.674 points earned so far this season.
