In their opening game, Morozumi lost 8-6 to Jia Liang Zang (Harbin, CHN), then responded with a 7-6 win over Randie Shen (Taiwan, TPE). Morozumi went on to lose 5-2 against Peter De Boer (Naseby, NZ). Morozumi responded with a 15-3 win over Viktor Kim (Almaty, KAZ). Morozumi won 9-3 against Ian Palangio (Sydney, AUS), then won 19-2 against John Li (Hong Kong, HKG) and 8-7 against Soo-Hyuk Kim (Gangwon, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, Morozumi take home 14.891 world rankings points, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 23rd place overall with 169.391 total points. Morozumi ranks 42nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 50.055 points earned so far this season.
