Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) finished 5-6 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brewster defeated SooHyuk Kim (Gangwon, KOR) 9-3, then won 6-3 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). Brewster went on to lose 9-6 against Alexey Tselousov (Moscow, RUS). Brewster lost 6-5 to Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). Brewster lost 5-3 to Kevin Koe (Calgary, CAN). Brewster lost 5-4 to Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI). Brewster lost 9-7 to John Shuster (Duluth, USA) where Brewster responded with a 7-3 win over Aku Kauste (Hyvinkaa, FIN). Brewster won 7-6 against Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER). Brewster went on to lose 7-6 against Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN). Brewster responded with a 6-4 win over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

Brewster earned 13.217 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 18th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 0.22300000000001 after improving upon their best so far this season. Brewster ranks 16th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 186.885 points earned so far this season.
