Bitz finished 4-1 in the 19-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bitz defeated Steven Andrews (Coaldale, AB) 5-4, then won 7-3 against Dave Manser (Lethbridge, AB). Bitz went on to lose 5-3 against Matthew Blandford (Calgary, AB). Bitz responded with a 7-1 win over Scott Manners (Grande Prairie, AB). Bitz won 9-6 against Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Medicine Hat Charity Classic, Bitz take home 4.725 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN prize, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 47th place overall with 29.540 total points.
