To advance to the championship game, Jacobs won 6-2 over Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) in the semifinals of the 2014 StuSells Toronto Tankard in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and won 7-1 over Ontario's Peter Corner in the quarterfinals.
Jacobs finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jacobs defeated Ontario's Wayne Tuck Jr. 7-4, then won 4-2 against Jialiang Zang (Harbin, CHN) and 6-3 against John Epping (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the StuSells Toronto Tankard, Jacobs take home 25.000 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN prize, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 349.000 total points.
