Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) lost 6-5 to Josh Heidt (Kerrobert, SK) in the Final of the Red Deer Curling Classic, held November 14 - 17, 2014 in Red Deer, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Bottcher won 6-1 over Mick Lizmore (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2014 Red Deer Curling Classic in Red Deer, Alberta; and won 5-3 over Brady Clark (Seattle, WA) in the quarterfinals. of the 2014 Red Deer Curling Classic in Red Deer, Alberta;
 
Bottcher finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bottcher defeated Harvey Kelts (Red Deer, AB) 5-3, then won 5-2 against Kevin Marsh (Saskatoon, SK). Bottcher went on to lose 6-3 against Dustin Eckstrand (Red Deer, AB). Bottcher responded with a 5-3 win over Marc Pfister (Bern, SUI). Bottcher won 9-5 against Sean Geall (New Westminster, BC), then won 7-2 against Jamie King (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Red Deer Curling Classic, Bottcher take home 8.575 world rankings points along with the $7,500CDN prize, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 25th place overall with 65.049 total points. Bottcher ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 31.420 points earned so far this season.
