To advance to the championship game, Thurston won 11-3 over Janet Harvey (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2013 Atkins Curling Supplies Women's Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 4-3 over Courtney George (St. Paul, MN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2013 Atkins Curling Supplies Women's Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Thurston finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thurston defeated Lisa Menard (Dauphin, MB) 9-2, then won 8-0 against Terry Ursel (Arden, MB) and 6-1 against Maureen Stolt (St. Paul, MN). Thurston won 8-4 against Karen Fallis (Winnipeg, MB). Thurston went on to lose 8-5 against Colleen Kilgallen (Pinawa, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Atkins Curling Supplies Women's Classic, Thurston take home 2.800 world rankings points along with the $2,660CDN prize, moving up 8 spots the World Ranking Standings into 72nd place overall with 10.573 total points.
