Thurston finished 4-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thurston lost 8-2 to Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI), droppimg another game, 7-5 to Laura Crocker (Edmonton, AB) where Thurston responded with a 7-5 win over Stacey Fordyce (Brandon, MB). Thurston won 8-5 against Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN), then won 4-3 against Shannon Kleibrink (Calgary, AB) and 6-5 against Valerie Sweeting (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Women's Classic, Thurston take home 27.000 world rankings points along with the $10,400CDN prize, moving up 39 spots the World Ranking Standings into 33rd place overall with 37.573 total points. Thurston ranks 17th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 29.800 points earned so far this season.
