Jamie King (Edmonton/Calgary, AB) won 5-2 over Brock Virtue (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the MNP Charity Classic, held October 14 - 17, 2011 at the Medicine Hat Curling Club in Medicine Hat, Canada. To advance to the championship game, King won 7-6 over Scott Bitz (Regina, SK) in the semifinals of the 2011 MNP Charity Classic in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada; and won 5-3 over Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2011 MNP Charity Classic in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada;
King finished 4-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, King defeated Brad Heidt (Kindersley, SK) 7-3, then went on to lose 7-2 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK). King lost 6-4 to Tom Appelman (Edmonton, AB) where King responded with a 6-5 win over Matt Willerton (Edmonton, AB). King won 7-6 against Darren Moulding (Red Deer, AB), then won 5-4 against Darrell McKee (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the MNP Charity Classic Championship title, King earned 16.550 world rankings points along with the $11,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 36 spots the World Ranking Standings into 56th place overall with 30.518 total points. King ranks 28th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 16.550 points earned so far this season.
