In their opening game, Schaefer lost 6-5 to Krista Crowther (Calgary, AB), then responded with a 6-4 win over Brittany Gregor (Calgary, AB). Schaefer won 6-2 against Chantelle Eberle (Regina, SK). Schaefer went on to lose 8-7 against Allison MacInnes (Kamloops, BC). Schaefer responded with a 8-2 win over British Columbia's Tracey Jones. Schaefer went on to lose 7-5 against Renee Sonnenberg (Grande Prairie, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
