What is Sportsnet doing?
I plunked down $80 for Sportnets Grand Slam subscription on-line. I was happy with the service until the Syncrude National which is for some reason not in their archives. I contacted them to ask what is going on with the service but unsurprisingly got the "That's not my department" answer. When I contacted the putatively relevant department I got the equally unsurprising and classic no response. Sigh.
They did tell me my account was good till October of this year. Not going to do me much good mind you if they are not living up to their end of the bargain. Fingers crossed they will be streaming this event. Fingers crossed twice that they will do so in time for the Howard v Martin clash. They have had so many epic matches it would be delightful to see one last tussle.

Sportsnet not showing Jones and Sigfridsson
So my 3 sportsnet channels are showing the same Jays game, but the listings show that they are supposed to be showing the Women's curling game.
This is in BC, Lower Mainland
Anyone else?

They're taking over all the curling broadcasts from TSN, combining that with Slams, adding the Mixed (both events), and finding whatever other curling they can broadcast and forming Sportsnet Curling channel. All curling, 24/7 with expert analysis from the quacks that frequent these forums...

This was the least earth shattering announcement that could have been made. Totally predictable and apparently known to hundreds of people for the last 6 months. Not sure why he didnt announce it months ago. After 20 years the top players have become best friends . Except for about 5 guys that have been demoted . They are professional curlers and when I see how long it takes them to call a shot ... Often the wrong one, I wonder if they are the sharpest knives in the drawer. But I enjoy watching.

yep the 'bear is joining the broadcast team, so
where does that leave Mr.'Homer" Harris? , out in the cold hopefully , Kevin has amassed a ton of curling knowledge only rivaled by perhaps Russ Howard on analyzing curling shots....besides having a decent disposition no the boring crap coming from Mike Harris , glad your on board Kevin ...

Hey Manitoba Legend ...is that a self proclaimed title?
Most Legends are dead.....
Anyway.....I don't think Kmart can bring anything to the game that hasn't been done.....
That said they did try to tell the curlers not to follow draws down the ice because it blocks the camera's view of the rock going towards the house......maybe they will call offside on the thrower?
i think the Slam TV events can put cameras wherever they want....not like they are
blocking any paying crowd.

Congrats to Kevin on an amazing career! He's been behind a lot of innovations in curling, on & off of the ice. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't already have a list of ideas! Good luck & best wishes Kevin!!!

Good to see another TV spiel. I hope most will include the women, too, but there is no mention which ones will include women. I assume the new one won't, as I think it is close to womens worlds, but it would be great if the others did.

Masters of Curling and Players' Championship will have women's events.

That is too bad. I thought there would be one more womens TV Slam. So, two TV Slams for the women and three non TV "Slams" - Calgary, Winnipeg and Saskatoon? But same idea, the bonus $ will only be for the two TV spiels?
