Team Sigfridsson Lineup Change

Maria Prytz has decided to step back from competitve curling. Cissi Ostlund will be taking her place on the team.

Still no word on what (if anything) Ostlund's front end (Stein, Carlsson) are doing next season.

I don't think this had anything to do with Team Ostlund splitting up, as the catalyst for that was Sabina Kraupp (vice) taking her own step back from curling, and that announcement was made during the early days of Worlds.

It will be interesting to see how they do next season. Team Sigfridsson has been struggling since Sochi. Prytz is/was a hell of a shotmaker, definitely some big shoes to fill for Ostlund, so to speak.

Other than Sigfridson's stellar lead play all team members seem to have regressed. Interesting to see if CC can step up and steer a swaying ship - no doubt they'll be "appointed" Swedish reps at the next worlds and obviously they'll be Sweden's Olympic reps unless Ostlund is an abject disaster.

Interesting also to see what Ostlund does with a team of grizzled and gnarled vets all in their 30s to early 40s!

i was wondering where you were.hadnt seen you on here since i came back on

i dont know how to feel about this. its time sweden started focusing on the future and with cici joining this team its going to still get most of the attention and the younger teams, unless this lineup completely flops and someone like hasselborg or wrana step up big time, will continue to be ignored.

on the other hand it will be interesting to see if cici can reinvigorate this team. also it will be interesting to see how cici does throwing last rocks but not calling the game. she seems like one of those players who would perform better without having to worry about calling the game and just focusing on her throws. at times it seems like she would get caught over thinking and letting leads slip away.

finally the right move

Cissi was a 2011 world Gold Third for Anette Norberg..

Fitting in with a top Skip strategist like Margaretha will
prove to be a great move..
Maria Prytz said herself she lost her "motivation"

So its a win-win for all..they still have a a very good third in Christina Bertrup.. and solid front end...

Looking forward to seeing Cissy show her talent next season
