Is anybody else watching the WCF live stream of CAN-FIN? I've found the WCF commentary to be dull and inoffensive at best, but the commentators' obvious anti-Canadian bias and stunning lack of strategic understanding on this particular broadcast is pretty shocking. They're criticizing every call, then are surprised when things work out. It's almost as if these players know what they're doing, being at the World Championship and all. Is this really how WCF wants to present the sport to a global audience?

My guess it that, as long as Canada is, or is perceived to be the top curling nation in the world-and there's really not much of an argument there-that they'll be perceived as "The Villains" and wear the metaphorical "Black Hats" (as opposed to the hats that Norway wears!) When the US "Dream Team" plays basketball against a European country, how does the European media cover it?
Canadians are big boys & girls-we can take it-frankly, if you told Pat & the guys how they were being perceived, they'd probably laugh. Just like hockey-if it sells the game internationally who cares?

I don't disagree with you. I just think that these youtube streams are, for many people at least judging by the comments posted there, the first exposure many will have to the sport. You want enthusiastic, knowledgeable and positive people delivering the commentary to keep newcomers engaged. This is the official governing body of the sport, they're capable of better than this.

game sofar this week, with only one more game to play in regulation round that being against Italy.... they are indeed lucky Misty1 keeping pace with Norway, all Simmons had to do was be a tad to heavy with weight on last shot and, sure it would of bounced off other to only tie game instead of taking deuce to win ...what irked me was TSN commentator NEVER SHOWED THE REPLAY OF PAT'S LAST SHOT ... going to what else another 'M&M commercial break go figure Rauter

A solid week from Team Canada with just the one blip on the record Plus that Norway loss was on the so called worst sheet in the arena, so I definitely expect a better performance from Pat n co. tomorrow night!

No luck involved, any one who plays a decent level of Curling knows they are winning with experienced play and skill. Control the game, play the correct shots and angles, and you will win far more often then you lose. Finland's strategy and shot selection the last 4 ends was pretty bad, they basically played to lose by one so that result is not surprising.
Misty1 seems to dislike most Canadian teams and seems genuinely disappointed any time they win a close result.

The US have their game back and so will defeat Finland. Canada won't play like that again Vs. Norway and so will win.

Ok, weird: the TSN listing for the tiebreaker is no longer on their site, and Team Shuster just tweeted that TSN is not showing.
Breaking: TSN seems to confirm no coverage of the tiebreaker:

Typical...it would have been a great game to watch.

My guess is that who shows what, where and when is totally dictated by politics between the media giants and the world curling federation and various broadcasting agreements with broadcasting networks. And after all is said and done, MONEY will determine directions taken.

Do you think a U.S. channel would show other teams playing.....wait they don't even show U.S. playing!!!! Have you ever been in the U.S. for any Olympics and tried to watch anything but U.S. teams.
TSN is doing an excellent job and so is Sportsnet for the Grand Slam and locally we had Rogers cover provincials playdowns. We've had more curling coverage this year that I can ever remember but some people are never happy!

I agree that TSN and Sportsnet do a great job, however, what grinds my gears is when their own website and the online guide shows that they are broadcasting the tiebreaker and then they don't, with one hour notice. We have an all event pass and could have gone to the game but opted to stay home for the tiebreaker and attend the 1v2 instead. By the time we knew, it was too late. It's not the first time they've done this kind f thing either. They might want to take heed of what happened to the CBC a few years back when they started pulling this kind of thing on curling fans. It got pretty ugly. The people working the phone lines at CBC needed stress counselling!

I just noticed - is TSN seriously replaying the meaningless CAN-ITA game instead of showing the tiebreaker? Seriously?

Finland gets by the United States 6-5.
This team will be dangerous. They should have had wins over sweden and canada in the round robin and played norway tight. They probably wont win it all but it wouldnt surprise me if they got a medal
Either way they have had a great week here and its great to see finland finally have a strong showing at worlds again. been a long time since they have
