Doubt it... women's curling revolves around jones don't you know... Pathetic that they don't switch to the much closer, more interesting game. Shame.
Obviously there are reasons why they didnt show the other game, this isnt tsn workng the broadcast,

Miss Carey is on her last curling life once again at a provincial championship. Funny how some teams have "IT" and some dont.

TSN vs Sportsnet
TSN uses mostly steadycams (handheld with balancing equipment to make them more steady)so that makes them immediately more mobile. Sportsnet seemed to have only fixed cameras, which can be difficult, if impossible to move on short notice. If Curtis Saville is around on this conversation, he might have more insight. Curtis Saville was the TSN floor director we worked with during the 1995 Brier, but I think he is in radio now, if I remember correctly.

I suspect Carey is now so frustrated she's probably prepared to blow up her team. Don't blame her.
The only question is - will she recruit Cathy O. to play third and give it another go?
Is Cathy a better third than skip?
They need a front end - how 'bout Leslie Wilson (Kilgallen's 2nd) and Jennifer Clarke-Rouire?
Carey will keep her team together for next year cause they have a trials spot virtually locked up. After next year tho ... big changes for rmany teams

Perhaps you might change your tune ML. Carey's third who you have been lambasting constantly was named all-star third for the Manitoba playdowns!!

However, if she feels that she's got a position weakness (ie third) will she reach into the talent pool and replace one player, still retaining roar qualification?
Not that I have any inside info., but I understand that she and Kristy are good friends. And lets face it her team has done better since the 2 of them joined up. Losses happen. Would have liked to see their team in the final though.

Well after the thrashing today, Auld may beat Middaugh bent on avenging her loss to Homan!
Regarding Auld:
How can this team still be alive in the playoffs, they have lost 4 of their last 5 gms. Says something about the level of competition.

ML, you've gotta take it easy on the immediate predictions of teams replacing members and "blowing up" as soon as they lose an important game. I like to compare this to Paul Wells's (Macleans Magazine columnist) law of Canadian politics: "the least interesting outcome will happen."
Carey's got one of the top teams in the country. Losses happen. Considering how close they are to a trials spot, it would be utterly ridiculous for her to make player changes this year.

I've seen a 5 way tie breaker for third with records of 6-5 at the Canadian Junior Men's in 1990.
At the 1979 Lassie, there was a 5 way tie breaker for second, but the records were 7-3. Perhaps of interest, NS Skip was Penny LaRocque, NS second was a 19 year old Colleen Jones. (In 1974, Penny played second for skip Joyce Myers - later Penny's coach)
Auld finished 6-3, a clear second in the round robin, so she lost the page 1-2 and dropped to the semi.

Well im pretty much resigned to jones winning manitoba again. Chelsey carey was the only team that could have beaten her in the final. I dont really see killgallen or spencer being able to stand up to the jones team's shotmaking

It's amazing what winning one's first five games can do for one's fortunes later in the competition.

Marion MacCaulay, lead for PEI skip Kim Dolan at the 1992 STOH, spent a lot of the time between draws in the medical room because she played most of the week with pneumonia. A skip with pneumonia is one thing, to sweep 6 rocks an end with pneumonia is another .... Do skips ever really sweep? LOL

6-2 Auld
Surprised team middaugh didn't wake-up after her sensational triple take-out, one of the best shots ive seen all year.

sherry having to stand on her head for her team in the front half. heroics came to an end in the 5th, giving up a steal of 2. both teams looking like good club teams out there. i get nervous for the auld vice every time she throws,,,, it look like she might tip over. not the steadiest, but still making some shots.

Sherry and Rizzo both serve up stinkers 10-4. Full credit to Auld for a great game. She was far the superior skip today!

Wow, Sherry had to play hard shot after hard shot in that game, receiving no support from her front 3. Auld-Homan final it is!

Poor sherry. ran out of steam in the end and lost 10-4 to auld.
Oh well. Auld's team does not have the game to stand up to rachel for the whole 10 ends so unless rachel and the team have an off game like middaugh's team or rachel loses the game on a wild last end steal like last year rachel has this.
middaugh and mccarville were the only teams i could have seen beating rachel here
Sherry will look back at that round robin loss to mccarville that put her in the 3 v.s 4 game and really kick herself. she makes it and life is so much easier for her.

I'll give you guys a controversial one you can chew on. Homan is in a different category than the other ONtario teams. Here's how many times out of 100 I'd say Homan wins vs. Ontario teams past and present....
vs. Auld - 99
vs. Middaugh - 90
vs. McCarville - 88
vs. Jen Hanna - 85
vs. Heather Houston - 80
vs. Alison Goring - 83
vs other teams past and present....
vs. Jennifer Jones - 54
vs. Princess Eve Muirhead - 60
vs. Elisabet Gustafson - 50
vs. Andrea Schoepp - 55
vs. Lady Bang Bang (Wang) - 70
vs. Kelly Scott - 63
vs. Heather Ned - 65
vs. Stef Lawton - 50
vs. Amber Holland - 65
vs. Crystal Webster - 85
vs. Shannon Kleibrink - 76
vs. Cathy O (current) - 96
vs. Connie Laliberte - 55
vs. Colleen Jones (original team) - 52
vs. Sandra Schmirler - 40
vs. Heather Smith-Dacey - 88
vs. Suzanne Birt - 95
vs. Kerry Galushka - 96
vs. Kelley Law - 65
vs. Cathy King - 63
vs. Distracted Danish Blondes - 90
vs. Mirjam Ott - 70
vs. Silvana Tirinzoni - 78
vs. Chelsea Carey - 85
vs. Barb Spencer - 95
vs. Colleen Kilgallen - 99
vs. Pat Sanders - 75
vs. Linda Moore - 65
Did I miss any legit opponents, past or present?
your fanaticism for jenniffer is one thing but you take it to an all new level with rachel..im actually getting concerned of your mental health. My major complaint is goring. In her peak goring would have ran circles around rachel with strategy alone
put that H2H in goring's favor in matches our of 100 at about 65-35
