Was gonna post the same thing. He does it quite often actually, and has been doing it for years. He'll get burned by it at some point. I just hope that team Canada doesn't pay for it at this world's. But I would like to see him called out on it for sure.

Why would a player at his level want an ovation for a shot he should make 95/100 times. It's not a Canada thing, it's a ho hum nose hit.

Does that mean Japan and Sweden should also get multiple teams?
As for Shuster, they were just joking around. Canada gets a strong crowd reaction for open shots while others get nothing. Obviously due to the home crowd effect. You just caught them making smart ass comments at each other.

Spoken by a hater who has never met him. I have, Gerry has, we know what kind of guy he is. Gold and Bronze Olympic medals, give it a break.

Not a U.S.A. fan but cannot dismiss the fact that to date, after 13 rounds, all four of that team are curling really, really well.
Lead: Landsteiner 91%
Second: Hamilton 90%
Third: Plys 86%
Skip: Shuster 86%

The realization they're not quite good enough vs. the polished Swedes and the advancing Japanese has to be quite disheartening - but unfortunately its true.
Wow, one bad day and the #1 team in the world is suddenly no good? They will be there when the moneys on the line like they always are. The only team I see having a chance to beat them in the playoffs is Edin cuz that team is hall of fame too. Hopefully they meet in the finals and not the semis.

Don't like their chances vs. Scottish Mouat but both teams are having spot struggles this week. Koe just began his struggle portion yesterday - missing some easy shots - crashing on front guards with reckless abandon.

If KK flounders today and drop a bad one - they'll be shaky going into the playoffs.
Victor Router was having a real bad day counting rocks yesterday. . . .. . . hates it when TSN forced to switch games - - - - only because the officials have escorted the Canadians off the ice!
Geez. That post is complete and utter bullsh1t. All of it. There's not a line in it that rings of any truth whatsoever. Just stop. Please.

Well played game Canada. Big game tonight.
Very well. They won it with some great doubles and that hammer shot in the 9th. I'd be surprised to not see them in the finals.

Japan just gave up it's second stolen point of the week. Were they predicted to be this good?

Interesting that in every other sport, overtime is usually the most exciting part of the game. Unfortunately, in curling the extra end [overtime] is typically just BORING. Witness Swiss vs Japan today - the outcome was never in doubt.

No poster predicted Japan ( now 8 -2 ) would make the playoffs.

Helluva game vs Scots so far. Never seen Koe looking and sounding so stressed as he is tonight. When Hebert gets tense he tries to call the game which ain't helping.
Line that should be banned is when someone says 'I don't hate that' about a potential call. Cop out line.

I love the team but it drives me batty when the front end doesn't give feedback on the rocks. Team has tons of potential and already has done amazing things (winning through the C side in provincials, winning their first event of the season, winning the Brier undefeated) but that communication blip needs to be ironed out.

Say something, better nothing at all
Can't remember the name of the song but about 15 years ago "tell me" Drops of Jupiter by Train? Even if you're wrong, give your best guess at weight to give your skip the least bit of input. Many shots have been 1/2 or 2/3 down the sheet.... crickets. Takes a team to make a shot. Come on Canada, snap out of it. Playoff bound!

Another tough one this morning.
After 17 draws, Benny is the only Canadian player who's shooting percentage is better than his Swiss counterpart.

Throw out of order
So from what I read, in the Sweden vs USA game, in the 4th end, Sweden threw out of order by mistake. One of their players threw only one stone, and so for their last one, the skipped player had to throw that.
What would have happened if instead a player had thrown an extra stone? i.e. three instead of two?

Draw Shots
Looks likely that Koe, Switzerland and Japan will tie for second and a bye to the semi-finals. They will each have one win and one loss which sends it to the Draw challenge. Does anyone know where these statistics are found? Canada doesn't seem to have had a great record this time.

Switzerland seems to have the spot locked up according to the WCF website.

Draw Shot Challenge spreadsheet
For some reason when I cut-and-paste the URL, it doesn't work here. So here's how I found it:
Go to http://wmcc2019.worldcurling.org/
Click on Results
Scroll down to the Reports button and click it.
Now click on Draw Shot Challenge.
