Wheelchair Worlds 2016

USA beats Canada to even our record at 1-1. Canada slips to a surprising 0-2.

USA lost the opener by getting crushed by Norway (who had to qualify for the event maybe???) Looked like a rough start, but now Norway is 3-0 and crushing everybody. And I mean CRUSHING.

I thought we had a thread started for this event already. I hoped that CZ would be posting scores, but I realize someone onsite has to set up and run that. Tough to get real fired up about it when it's on the other side of the globe...until the playoffs...kinda like the Youth Olympics. Still, I'm cheering from afar.

1 point loss to Germany while I slept. McDonald on the bench for this one. Odd, since he skipped the win over Canada. I'm assuming health problems. If so, I hope he gets well and back on the ice.

Anyone know what's going on with Canada? 0-3 and in real danger of not auto-qualifying for next year's worlds.

USA is 2-3 with a 3-0 lead over Slovakia currently. They are currently in 5th place and winning out guarantees a playoff spot although 3-1 should get them there especially with a win over 4th place Korea.

Time to get tough team!

Canada is 1-4 but 4 wins puts them in the mix.

Does anyone know why we're in our third lineup in just the fifth game? That doesn't sound like Steve and Rusty. I hope everybody's healthy. Then again, maybe I hope there's a flu going around. I don't know what to hope for.

Huge games coming up. We need to pass either Korea or Russia to get into the playoffs. Our next two games are against Korea and Russia. The the last game against China.

Canada continues to struggle; losing to a Finnish team that is under .500.

I trust Steve as a coach. If he's changing up the lineup, he has a good reason...health or something else. He's not the kind of coach to make moves just to show that he's really coaching. He's too sharp for that.

A Canadian fan is on site in Lucerne and has volunteered to share the gold medal game on CurlingGeek. Look for coverage to start at 15:00 Switzerland on Sunday. That's 9am Eastern.

HUGE win vs Korea! Now come two cracks at getting into the medal round. Russia and China. Russia locked up a playoff spot, so they have little to play for but they were a pre-event favorite. China has just couple win so far.

I finally heard from over there. Not all of our players have been feeling the best. Maybe some exotic foods? Lineup is back now. Time for our Wheelies to Roll!

Heard that a bug was going around and McDonald had it first couple of games. My source was pretty sure his source was in the know.

Two wins and they are straight in, win and a loss a tiebreaker with Korea.
