I have mixed feelings about this move - and it has nothing to do with nationality. Eve is one of the most recognizable female curlers in the world (others being Jennifer Jones, Kaitlyn Lawes, Rachel Homan, Joanne Courtney amongst others)
From my point of view the success of Team Muirhead is directly correlates to one person - Eve Muirhed. In other words Team Muirhead is essentially a one-person team. And that person is Eve.
Eve has had incredible success into her mid to late 30s with an average 3rd (Anna Sloan) and one solid front-ender and a variety of others.
Eve is 26 years old, what in the world are you talking about?

Actually, a long held secret is finally out. Manitoba Legend is actually Bill from Bill and Ted's excellent adventure fame. He is relating his knowledge from 10 years from now.

I think this post is a great illustration of how this forum has become a haven for ill will, hate, and trollish behavior. ML has a typo and says 30s rather than 20s, and people just pile on. You may counter by saying 26 isn't late 20s. Fine, let it go, or are you prepared to become grammar and spelling police and criticize anyone who is less than perfect on here.

Just a casual question about the actual topic.
How will Howard help them exactly? In having watched Muirhead skip for what seems a long time, she appears to have a solid grasp of strategy.
If anything, it is often the execution that lets her down, usually not her own, but of her teammates.
So it would seem to me the tactical discussions would be focused on not letting Anna make tough shots, as in the past she has often been the weak link.

With ML's post we can't tell the difference between a typo or what he means to say.

" If Russ sees Anna is not making enough key shots or missing badly at key stages he might recommend moving Lauren Gray up to 3rd. Operative word being "might".
I'm sure Russ might suggest that to Glenn. another typo maybe or maybe not.

Glenn coaching Eve Murihead
Help me here as I have been out of the loop for a couple of months. Is Glenn still going to also be actively curling then? And who is is rink going to be. I did see a post for an event in September, so wondered if I missed something along the way here.
Thanks

Like this move
This is a good move by the Scotland Team...
Glenn Howard is a super guy, good leader
This might slightly move Eve's personal game into a more fine-tuned,
finesse style...finally get over the need for up-weight high-risk circus shots...with solid set ups of ends
I dont think Glenn or anyone outside the Scottish organizers would be suggesting any lineup shuffles..

Re: like this move
No knock on Sloan, except in every post you can bring her name up in, of course.

This is not a major issue, because Eve is such a great shotmaker, but one thing I have noticed is that she sometimes overestimates her ability to make some shots and it can get her into trouble. In other words, she is reluctant to take her medicine when the situation calls for it. I have seen her try shots that I just don't think were there. There are times to take risks, for sure, but often as a skip you have to decide that discretion is the better part of valour. That knowledge is something that seems to come with experience, something that Glenn brings in spades.
