Stu Sells Oakville Tankard 2015
Will there be any coverage of subject Tankard this year? Last year's coverage was excellent and the competition was fierce. The event starts tomorrow and nothing has been posted.

Anyone else seeing issues with the linescores? Most games are over but the Championship Scoreboard on the right is still showing most games in the 4th-6th ends. Also, when I click on "View Game Details" or something like that, it brings me to the 2014 HDF Shootout game between Laycock and Jamie King. Anyone else experiencing these problems or is this just at my end?

I thought so too, however the "View Game Details" still aren't working. The games from Draw 1 haven't been ended by the site, therefore the brackets haven't been updated. Looking at the women's draw, we are supposed to have a couple of 'A' draw games as well as a 'B' game going on right now. However, since the site still thinks the Draw 1 games are still going on, they aren't being shown in the Draw 2 linescores yet. Hard to explain, not sure if I'm being clear or descriptive enough. It should be ruled out soon I hope.

It was a STEAL of 8. How on earth did that even happen?

A steal of 8, when you are winning by 6? That has to be an error.

JJ must be developing a complex with regards to Paetz.
At least this one Jones didn't get herself carved up by Paetz - she actually led 3-0 after 2 ends - and managed to squander away both the lead and the first qualifying position.
Paetz must be praying Jones reps Canada again cuz Alina certainly has JJ's number. I don't think she'd fare as well vs. Homan or Sweeting.
you are writing paetz into worlds but she has to get through feltscher, tirinzoni and jaeggi . thats no easy task

So who is playing Koe, Brown or Johnston? Scorecard and brackets show Johnston in both spots. Score shows Brown won 9-2.

A bug in the system is only updating periodically the running scores and we're working on it. As for click on the game in the right scoreboard and the View Game Details links, those have been fixed now. Thanks for heads up.

epping out early with a 1-3 record. not a good opening event for them
these are the events he usually is strong in
be interesting to see how he rebounds now next week
he's not in an easy pool with mcewen, koe, shuster and decruz.
could easily see him going winless in that pool with the shape he had this week

Makes you wonder why they would do that, especially after allowing Carter Rycroft to re-deliver a shot in the most recent Brier after a handle malfunction caused incorrect red lights. Not playing well maybe....even with doing that, they barely survived the match vs. Deruelle. I'd say the curling gods did not look kindly upon their actions.
Anyone else notice that, in both the men's and women's events, the C qualifiers ALL lost their quarterfinal matches?? Nothing but the A and B qualifiers left in both. You don't see that every day.

--"as they came to rest"-----not classy.
--don't "the rules" state that the team affected gets to decide one way or another? if the stones had already come to rest, I find that pretty low of team Koe to kick those stones away.
--this game has sure become more cut throat than ever before.

As much as Jones is rapidly developing a terrible complex about playing swiss teams she seems very comfortable confronting her prairie rival Stef Lawton.
Jones currently leading Lawton 5-1 playing the 6th. Certainly not over cuz we know of Jones' penchant for squandering leads and barfing up big ends (conceding a deuce which turns into a 3)
I think the Jones hay-days are coming to an end. She's still a very tough campaigner but her team lives all over the planet - Jones is in southern Ontario with her new hubby and Pint-size has her new relationship with the figure skating kid. Dawn just gave birth and while Officer still appears to be a great player - she's been showing signs of wear and tear.
I suspect the only way Jones & her current group continue next season is if they somehow manage to win the STOH. Don't get me wrong - they have a chance - its Jones, Homan and Sweeting - THE BIG 3 in Canadian womens curling. Sweeting should be a lock out of Alberta unless Kelcey Rocque heats up and Homan is probably 95% money to rep Ontario again.
Only a few other usual suspects to contend - Stef obviously from Sask, Middaugh, not much more.
However, of the 3 super teams only JJ has secured her auto-berth to the STOH.
Homan and Sweeting have to earn the provincial titles.
If both somehow falter I'd rate JJ having a 75% chance of nabbing her 6th Canadian title.
If one of them make it thru - JJ's odds diminish to 40% and if both get thru I don't like JJ's odds at all - perhaps 20%.
And JJ's team can relax on Labour Day after losing to Siderova...
