Jon Mead --- what's his future?
Will Jon move (wink, wink) back to the land of the Bison? And if he does, will he take the head? Who will he hook up with ... Fowler?

Interesting idea of Mead hooking up with Fowler. That would either give Fowler a very solid 3rd or if Mead to skip and have Fowler as 3rd.
I think Stoughton's team is more interested in finishing the year strong in the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown for now then deal with what happens during the summer.

Prediction:
- Stoughton and Mead throw a team into the regionals, qualify, and finish in the top four at provincials. No other games required.
- McCewen loses to somebody we didn't expect.

Other than that Mead might want to consider hooking up with Mike McEwen at 3rd - either B.J. moves down the lineup or he becomes the 5th. Mead is exactly what a guy like Mike needs to occasionally shake him out of the mope-doldrums Mike is prone to, also Jon is a helluva competitor and shot-smith. Not that BJ is weak - but Jon would bolster the crew.
Another possibility> Moskowy gets fed up with Reid's problems in certain situations and either heads back to Sask'n or hooks up with McEwen. Jon Mead (47) would be a great short-term fix but Moskowy (26) could be the long-term guy.
I see Fowler trudging on with a similar lineup to what he had this year.
After the top 2 or 3 teams in Manitoba there isn't much to share in terms of superman curlers.
The other wildcard is Braden Calvert. If this young man keeps progressing he could easily re-threaten McEwen, Reid, Fowler, etc. In fact he's there already by virtue of his great showing in this year's Safeway championships.
I'm a bit worried about Reid. Great front end in Sammy and Hodgie this year. Moskowy a real find at third. But in the end Reid let them down. Never crashed but just couldn't close enough deals (and the great ones - Koe, Martin, Folk, Stoughton, Nedohin, Howards, etc. always find a way to close out essential games)
I thought Reid seemed indecisive a lot. I would expect a world class skip to be in charge. I had great hopes for this team.

Has it been confirmed he will not be back with Howard ?

Another remote idea. Fowler, Mead and Carruthers joining forces then find a solid lead. Atleast McEwen would have a fair size headache with that combination. A few things just didn't click for Reidrama at The Brier.

Jon is in great shape for a man approaching 50.
I believe Jonathan Mead's future is in the Business Development Consultant field.
Which isn't to say that he can't hook up with a team, in Ontario or Manitoba, and curl, and have some success.
