Yikes, Glenn will need to find a pretty good replacement...how did it happen? Distracting for Sherri too right before the Scotties.

Sherry implied in her Twitter post that Scott Bailey wasn't playing in the Tankard either? Anyone know why?

Doesn't the spare have to be from the St. George"s Curling Club. Either that or the spare pool?

Nope, Sarah isn't in her first Canadian championship. She played second for Kalia Van Osch when they came 2nd in the Canadians, losing to Kelsey Rocque in 2014.
She's also won the Optimist U-18 International and played in the Canada Winter Games last year, winning a bronze I believe.
A lot of people think Corryn is better, but I would honestly rank the two teams as even. Corryn is a bit older and has the Canadian title under her belt, but it's been a huge battle between her and her main challenger, be it a Van Osch or a Daniels, dating back to when Corryn did win that Canadian title.
If you think Corryn Brown was a favorite to win the nationals, then so too is Sarah and her rink.

Braeden Calvert
Out in the page playoff in the manitoba juniors. thats a pretty big upset, as everyone was calling a calvert/dunstone final. However calvert goes down to derek oryniak. dunstone won his game so awaits the winner of oryniak/ryan in the final.

I think that is the case...but there are some talented curlers at St. Georges

Remember, he made a spirited run at last year's event before falling to Jeff Stoughton.
probably. been a pretty disappointing season for him after last years successes.

btw - for curlerbroad....
If Old Glenny has to pull a spare from St. Georges and somehow manages to topple Epping can he then bring in non-Ontario ringer like Mead?
Has Mead even done any competitive curling this year? Maybe a little rusty.

I suspect Hart's brother-in-law Rob Rumfeldt. would be the logical choice as a replacement?

As long as he is a member of St. Georges...yes ML they might be able to use Mead...if he doesn't continue to coach McEwan.
Other sports ensure their star athletes don't do any other sports which could jeapardize their health before a competition...surprised Glenn didn't ask his team to lay off the risky sports like skiing.

That's easily accomplished.

Depends if Mead has represented a team in Manitoba ( including Coach I would presume). Only allowed to represent 1 province in a season.

I wasn't referring to Mead, someone else was. Rumfeldt would qualify.

Well, according to the rules:
"A player shall be eligible to play in an OCA competition whether or not it leads to a Canadian championship provided he/she is a member of the OCA member club he/she is representing immediately prior to and at all times during the competition..."
The "immediately prior to" part (which would extend to the day before zones) may not be so easily engineered, depending on how closely people look at the situation.

I suspect Glen's reputation befits a 'loose interpretation' of the policy. After all, he didn't shove Wayne down the slopes - he's not trying to improve on Wayne Middaugh - he's trying to make the best of a bad situation!
"Glenn's Reputation"...I'm not sure he is the star that he used to be. The OCA not be as accommodating as we think. However, with Wayne not playing to much at the beginning of the season due to work commitments, I suspect that Bob Rumfeldt is already a St. George's member.
It will be interesting for sure!

It should be interesting to see how this all evolves, and whether the OCA decides to dig their heels in or show some flexibility and go with a 'loose interpretation'.

Crackers is a member of St George's and did not play in the Tankard.
He may still be injured. Would be a pretty good fill in.

I am wondering if games from the Ontario Scotties will be streamed here. I don't have Rogers. Any other TV viewing available? Thanks!
