russian mens team was just a mess. im not a fan of forcing players into lineups. and im not sure why they have this continued faith in stukalskiy. he's never done anything of note and they put him into a russian line up that got 4th at euros.
im just trying to understand why the russian mens program and swiss mens programs are so far behind the women. they are doing the same things, working with the same people.

To be fair Stukalskiy was on the team that finished 4th at Euro's. The difference is that Timofeev was skipping and throwing 4th stones with Stukalskiy throwing 3rd stones.
I believe they made the switch during the Russian playdown for World's after the team was down 2 games to 1 in the best of 7. They then won 3 straight to qualify.

Actually the Korean men did make the Worlds last year, beat out the strong Chinese team.

So they just put a skip on there to take over for one event, what a bold and probably not good move.

My picks for the next 2 draws: Japan, Canada. Sweden, Norway, Scotland, China.
So I was 4 for 6. Norway lost which of course could happen, as the Swiss are fairly good, but it's not really bad at this stage, if they miss playoffs it will be.
A bit shocking that China lost to Italy, but this Italy team has pulled off wins like this before.
Next draw it will be China, Canada, Norway and Scotland.

The play a best of 7 to make the worlds, that's different and interesting.

Weird shocking call by Sweden giving Canada 2 points, when it looked like Sweden was 2nd shot.

So China, Canada, Norway and Scotland won like I predicted, though China looked a bit shaky there for a bit.
Tomorrow's 1st 2 draws winners are: US, Scotland, Swiss, Sweden. China, Norway, Sweden, Canada.

China are going to need a good event to get directly into the Olympics, if not they will have to qualify.

I would not say the Swiss men are far behind the women at all.
As for Russia it's probably just they don't have as good men curlers.

Sweden is a really talented (and successful) team, but they make a lot of strange decisions.

I was commenting on your comment, not the question.
I would not say the women are a lot stronger, stronger, but not a lot.

just because Edin dropped game against Canada , I think
we will see them later in the week playing for playoff position, and perhaps a rematch game against Gushue the afternoon draw featuring Scotland's David Murdoch vs Canada is not to be missed, nothing is going to be a 'cakewalk" for Gushue

Stats
Can someone explain who does the calculations for the stats and why they do not post the results after each shot.Often when they say the stat for a player I'm often wondering how the heck they ever came up with that %
