Johnny Mo on the move
Just announced on TSN, Tohnny Mo will skip team Canada at the Brier. Not really shocking at all.

Re: Johnny Mo on the move
I think it used to be the Brier-winning team would get 144,000 in funding over the next 2 years.
1. Does this still hold true?
2. And if it does, how is it divided up now that the skip of the brier winner has a new team?
Thanks

I have heard the Brier winning in the Olympic year does not get funded. That funding card instead goes to the Trials winner.

Isn't Jacobs already funded as Brier winner last year? I don't think it doubles if you qualify twice but there are some conditions and limits to times you qualify, I thought.

Jacobs starts another 2 year carding cycle this June. He earned that by winning the trials. He was already on a 2 year cycle because of the 2013 Brier.
The extra year of carding goes to the team that finishes first on CTRS this year ending after the Players Championship. It was a race between Koe, Howard and Stoughton.
Team Morris (nee Koe) now gets the carding for a 1 year period starting in June.
Not sure who is earning the D cards this year.

Don't think so. I thought the ruling was that you had to play on a intact 3/4 minimum top 10 CTRS team.

Adam Casey
Any thoughts where Adam might go? He is a student at DAL in Halifax. Any men's teams that could use him? Could he be an asset?

Are CTRS points portable?
CTRS points surely must be 'portable'? I.e. Each person carries with them to their new team 1/4 of their teams points. If it were otherwise this would be a major disincentive to change. It would also mean that Team Howard would slide from second to 21st. Even if John Mead's points are portable they will lose a quarter of their points as Richard Hart brings none to the team.

CTRS points are only a 1 year total of the current team. Players do keep a portion of their points on the Order of Merit, which is used to create the World Rankings and Strength of Field for the events.

After announcing that Team Edin would stay together through the next olympic cycle, Frederik Lindberg announces he is stepping away from the game.

I attended the last Player's Championships Grand Slam held again in Summerside PEI and seen the Edin rink play, chatted with some of the players but never had any 'indication " of this to play out?

I guess he wants to spend time with Alison helping her adjust to her new life in Sweden?
As for the new Team Sweeting - it will be very interesting. Andrea is a rather fiery character - a little different from Val's mellow demeanour (even when in a heap of trouble - Val kept calm and carried on). Should be an interesting team to watch.
And the Maritimes loses another talented curler...not so good. Maybe Val's team could relocate to NB

Apparently Sebastian Kraupp is also leaving team Edin next season. My guess would be Oskar Eriksson as a possible replacement?

That is a TON of changes in the off season and we still have 3 months to go before the new season starts.
reagrding edin...im totally calling a joining together of the eriksson and edin rinks. Perhaps Eriksson stepping in to play 3rd, his brother markus playing second and of course viktor and niklas will keep their positions.Oskar goes with Niklas to events as alternate all the time and both teams appear to be great friends all down the line.
That team could , in actuality be stronger than the one he's lost but we'll see if it happens
