A most unfortunate event indeed.

Why are the Gore regions scheduled over two different weekends? The OCA has a very busy winter/spring season with many competitions, and not aligning on one weekend will create situations like this.
Gore has put in provisions to penalize region 2 players competing at Bantam Provincials.
It's an unfortunate situation, and will likely result in a skewed Gore provincial where teams with two competent Junior curlers have an easy bye to the Gore Provincials and likely a far weaker field than in previous years.

Not a word of that post is false. Go to the Gore website and see for yourself. The reason for the post was to make people in those Regions aware of a situation they may not have anticipated because when laying out the calendar for this year..they used the OCA website(which is usually accurate). I haven't assigned blame to any party..only wish they could find common ground to work it out for all the athletes affected. We have communicated with the powers that be..that was the first step. I would hope everyone encourages cooperation between all of the organizations(Gore/OCA/OFFSA) for the betterment of our sport in Ontario.

Maybe prior to posting false information, YOU would be better served to pick up the phone and start asking questions. Instead you would rather start finger pointing and playing the blame game on an open blog. If you feel that your child is being unjustly wronged, call the Executive Director of the OCA and voice your concerns. You might be surprised with the results.

Bantam curlers in Regions 1,3,4 who have hopes of competing at the OCA Bantam Provincials in Galt this year will be forced to abandon that dream if they wish to compete in Gore Schoolboy/girl this year. The OCA and Gore committee have scheduled concurrent events which will force the young athletes to chose which dream to abandon before competition begins. In a year that has already stripped Bantam curlers of the opportunity to compete in the Ontario Winter Games..this could have been avoided and should be fixed.
