Zhi Yu Wang (Harbin, CHN) finished 2-7 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wang defeated Ugurcan Karagoz (Eruzurum, TUR) 13-3, then went on to lose 7-3 against Tyler Tardi (Langley, CAN). Wang lost 6-5 to Marco Onnis (Trentino, ITA). Wang lost 8-2 to Magnus Ramsfjell (Jar, NOR). Wang lost 8-3 to Cameron Bryce (Stirling, SCO). Wang lost 9-4 to Jan Hess (Zug, SUI) where Wang responded with a 8-6 win over Ki Jeong Lee (Uiseong, KOR). Wang went on to lose 10-8 against Johan Nygren (Goteberg, SWE). Wang lost 6-4 to Andrew Stopera (Blaine, USA) in their final qualifying round match.

Wang earned 0.723 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, Wang did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Wang ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
