Melanie Barbezat (Biel, SUI) finished 4-3 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Barbezat lost 7-3 to Lisa Gisler (Bern, SUI), droppimg another game, 9-5 to Elena Stern (Wetzikon, SUI) where Barbezat responded with a 10-1 win over Tanja Santschi (Bern, SUI). Barbezat won 7-4 against Isabelle Maillard (Uitikon, SUI), then won 8-4 against Michele Jaeggi (Bern, SUI). Barbezat went on to lose 8-6 against Ursi Hegner (Uzwil, SUI). Barbezat responded with a 7-5 win over Alisha Mathis (Schaffhausen, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

Barbezat earned 1.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 93rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 38.930 total points. Barbezat ranks 129th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 13.614 points earned so far this season.
