Gushue/Gushue Runner-Up at 2024 Newfoundland & Labrador Mixed Doubles

After advancing directly to the championship game, Marissa Gushue/Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) lost 9-3 to Jessica Wiseman/Greg Smith (St. John's, NL) in the Final of the Newfoundland & Labrador Mixed Doubles, held January 3 - 7, 2024 at the Gateway Curling Club in Channel-Port aux Basques, Canada.

Gushue/Gushue finished 5-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue/Gushue defeated Susan Curtis/Keith Ryan (Labrador City, NL) 7-6, then won 12-4 against Sarah Thomas/Dave Thomas (Port aux Basques, NL) and 9-5 against Hayley Gushue/Nicholas Codner (St. John's, NL). Gushue/Gushue went on to lose 10-6 against Emily Neary/Dylan Hancock (St. John's, NL). Gushue/Gushue responded with a 9-5 win over Kate Paterson/Sam Follett (St. John's, NL). Gushue/Gushue won 5-4 against Wiseman/Smith in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Newfoundland & Labrador Mixed Doubles, Gushue/Gushue take home 2.750 world rankings points. For week 24 of the event schedule, Gushue/Gushue did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Gushue/Gushue ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
