Steve Laycock (Swift Current, SK) qualified for the 2023 Nutrien Ag Solutions Western Showdown playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-4 against Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN). of the 2023 Nutrien Ag Solutions Western Showdown in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada;

Laycock finished 4-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laycock defeated Trevor Bonot (Thunder Bay, NONT) 6-3, then went on to lose 5-2 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Laycock responded with a 7-4 win over Jongduk Park (GANGWONG, KOR). Laycock won 9-4 against Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI), then won 9-8 against Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

Laycock earned 18.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Nutrien Ag Solutions Western Showdown, moving up 18 spots the World Ranking Standings into 53rd place overall with 66.789 total points. Laycock ranks 55th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 41.125 points earned so far this season.
